If you are an Android enthusiast and want to perform TWRP recovery on your beloved device, then you have come to the right page. In this article, we will guide you through the process of getting the HTC U12+ Plus off the ground.

The TWRP offers an attractive hardware design and user interface (UI). If you follow this guide, you can install the latest version of TWRP for HTC U12+ Plus. You can download TWRP Recovery from the links in the “Overview” section of this article. Please note that this is an unofficial TWRP recovery and only for HTC U12+ Plus (Confirm the model by going to Settings> About menu). The following process is only for rooting and installing TWRP on HTC U12+ Plus, do not test this method on other devices.

If you want to unleash the full potential of your HTC U12+ Plus hardware, rooting and flashing a custom recovery like TWRP is an important consideration. Exchange ROMs often have limited and unsupported customization options. If you have a rooted device and a flashing TWRP recovery, you can install any custom ROMs, modules, kernels, Xposed, etc., as well as many applications that require root access to function properly. You can easily root your device with the Android Root Tool in just one click, either via PC or APK, which is a quick process.

Brief information and benefits of TWRP recovery

TWRP (Team Win Recovery Project) is an open source community development project. By flashing TWRP, you can install any custom firmware on your device, boot your smartphone, change zip files for settings, Xposed modules for settings, root and unroot processes with one click. You can also create a full backup of Nandroid and restore it later, create a flash image file with one click, remove bloatware, overclock and underclock. With TWRP, you can easily erase, cache and clean up data after flashing an image file to reflect changes and correct minor errors caused by caching.

To install the TWRP, your HTC U12+ Plus phone must have an unlocked bootloader. This means that you must first unlock the bootloader to install the device into the root, along with all the settings.

Steps for unlocking the HTC U12+ Plus boot loader

Note: If you have already unlocked the bootloader, you can skip these steps.

Step 1: First, you need to connect your HTC U12+ Plus device to your computer in quick start mode. You can reboot the device for a quick start with a command in the ADB terminal:

Advertising Reset

Step 2: Now open the Adb terminal in the PC and just type this command :

OEM unlock quick download

Step 3: Then enter this command:

OEM unlock quick download

At this point, your device will automatically reboot. You can now boot the HTC U12+ Plus because your device’s boot loader is already unlocked.

Steps for flashing/installing TWRP recovery 3.4.0 on HTC U12+ Plus

Step 1: Assume that you have already downloaded the platform tools of the Android SDK (SDK Manager) to your PC. The platform tools contain the necessary ADB executables and quick downloads.

Step 2: Make sure the drivers are installed on your computer. Then proceed to the next step.

Note: If the “Developer Settings” and “USB Error Detection” settings are already enabled on your device, as suggested in the “Benefits” section, you can skip steps 3 and 4 and follow step 5 directly.

Step 3: Now activate the developer settings on your HTC U12+ Plus device. To do this, go to Settings -> Info and search for “Build Number”, then click on “Build Number” 7 times, which will activate the developer settings on your device.

Step 4: If you already have a USB debug, you can skip this step. Otherwise, open the developer settings and enable the USB debugging option.

Step 5: Now open a command prompt on the ADB computer/terminal and simply type the command :

Advertising Reset

Step 6: Your device should not be in “fastboot” mode. Now copy the downloaded TWRP.img file in the mandatory section to the same folder where the ADB and rapidboot binaries are located. Rename the file to “twrp.img” and enter this command :

Quick start Flash recovery twrp.img

then run this command, enter :

early recovery

Step 7 (important): Some devices do not automatically replace the custom recovery on first boot. You can search Google for hotkeys to put your device in recovery mode. After performing a quick reboot, press and hold the desired hotkey to put your device in TWRP mode. Once your device is booted into TWRP mode, TWRP will automatically repair the stock ROM to prevent you from replacing TWRP with Stock Recovery.

How to install HTC U12+ Plus/Install Magisk or SuperSU

Make sure you have downloaded SuperSU or Magisk Manager (link in the required section of this article). Then, hop on the stairs.

Warning: you can use Magisk Manager or Super SU, but only one, so choose well. If you are not sure, go to Magisk Manager.

Step 1: Move the downloaded SuperSU or Magisk Manager file to the internal / SD memory card of your HTC U12+ Plus smartphone.

Step 2: Now you just need to start the recovery. You can optionally backup the ROM through the TWRP interface. However, I still recommend backing up the spare ROM. Because if the process fails, you can make a flash ROM.

Install TWRP 3;0

Step 3: Press “Install”, then navigate to the file “SuperSU.zip” or “magisk.zip” and drag the cursor over the file to confirm flashing (at the bottom of the screen). The Magisk/ SuperSU flash process has started and will take a few seconds.

Congratulations, you have now rooted the HTC U12+ Plus and also flashed the TWRP. You can now install Xposed Framework and customize your smartphone according to your preferences. If you want to check it, you can download and check the root status via the Root Checker application.
